Goldstrike Apricot Tree

The Goldstrike apricot produces a very large and firm fruit. The apricots are round to slightly oval and increase in size when well-thinned. Their skin has a light orange hue and is slightly glossy. The side of the fruit most exposed to the sun is often covered with a reddish blush. The firm, meaty, light orange flesh is moderately juicy. Some of the fruits acidity is associated with the skin. The fruits have an excellent eating quality. Goldstrike apricot trees bloom very heavily, but fruit set is usually moderate to light under natural pollination. Goldstrike trees will cross-pollinate with the Goldbar apricot tree.

Gourmet Dwarf Pear Tree

The Gourmet Dwarf pear tree produces a medium sized fruit. The pears are greenish yellow to yellow in color, and have a thick but tender skin. The very sweet flesh is yellowish in color and is crisp and juicy. This is the perfect dessert pear. Gourmet Dwarf pear trees are sterile, which means that they cannot be used as a pollinator. The medium sized trees grow upright.

Green Ash

The Green Ash Tree, ‘Fraxinus pennsylvanica,’ is a medium sized tree that is very adaptable to many soil and moisture conditions. It features rich green foliage that turns to a beautiful yellow fall color, and an upswept branching habit. It has velvety leaf stems that support the lance-shaped leaflets, which vary from lustrous medium to dark green. This fast growing shade tree can withstand excessive moisture, drought and wind. It has a densely rounded or irregular crown.

Hackberry

The Hackberry Tree, ‘Celtis occidentalis,’ is a tall tree with an equal spread, and features ascending, arching branches with some branches that droop. This is a superior tree that is able to withstand heat, drought, alkaline soils and heavy winds. Their large, spreading crown looks fantastic when the red orange fruit is matured in the fall. Its light green foliage will slowly fade to a yellow color in the autumn as well. This moderately growing rugged tree will take on a corky appearance as the trunk matures.

Hardy Pecan

The Hardy Pecan Tree, ‘Carya illinoinensis,’ will provide a heavy bounty of sweet, edible fruits and plenty of summer shade once it reaches maturity. It will bear nuts in about twelve to fifteen years. The Hardy Pecan Tree is a beautiful and majestic tree that can reach a height of seventy to one hundred feet with a spread of forty to seventy-five feet. This deciduous tree is hardy and has moderate water requirements and a good tolerance to salt and alkaline soils. It is ideal for lawns, as it will not shed its leaves until late fall.

Hazelnut

The Hazelnut Tree, ‘Corylus americana,’ is native to Missouri, and will typically grow to a height of eight to sixteen feet. This is a rounded, deciduous plant that typically grows like a multi-stemmed shrub, but can be trained into a tree form. It can be found naturally in dry or moist thickets, woodlands, valleys, uplands and prairies. It produces showy, two to three inch, yellowish brown male catkins in the spring with small, reddish female flowers. Its fall color is variable, and typically ranges from wonderful combinations of orange, rose, purplish-red, yellow and green. This Hazelnut tree is often called the American filbert.

Heavenly Bamboo

The Heavenly Bamboo, ‘Nadina domestica,’ is a very tough plant that will thrive in full sunlight or shade, and moist or dry conditions. This is not a true bamboo. Instead, it is an upright, six to eight foot tall, semi-evergreen shrub that tends to slowly sucker at its base, forming colonies. When grown in full sunlight, it typically attains a reddish tint in the winter months. Canes do not branch out, so be careful when pruning to thin out old stems every year or head back old canes a varying lengths to produce a denser plant. Once they are established, they require little to no care.

Henry Hudson Rose

The Henry Hudson rose is a rugosa hybrid shrub rose that blooms repeatedly with large clusters of white, semi-double flowers. It is a very neat and tidy bush that will not overtake its welcome in a garden bed. The white flowers feature prominent yellow centers that make excellent contrast with the petals as well as the deep pink buds. This variety is hardy to zone two and very disease resistant. This will make a great low hedge that has a nice rugosa fragrance.

Henry Kelsey CL Rose

The Henry Kelsey rose produces wonderful flowers that are medium red in color. The flowers grow in clusters of nine to thirteen. This plant is best known for its trailing and spreading growth habit, as well as its winter hardiness. The flowers have a great spicy fragrance. The Henry Kelsey rose is a fantastic addition to any Northern garden. The flowers will bloom in early summer and have a repeat bloom in late summer.

Heritage® Birch

The Heritage River Birch Tree, ‘Betula nigra,’ is a faster growing variety with larger, glossier leaves than other species. It is also less prone to leaf spot. This is the most prominent of all the various cultivars of River Birch trees. Its bark will exfoliate younger and open to a lighter, salmon-colored trunk. This is a handsome tree even without its leaves, due to its graceful silhouette and exfoliating bark. Its exposed inner bark is gray-brown to cinnamon-brown or reddish-brown.

Honey Perfume Rose

The Honey Perfume Rose features the classic floribunda form with an upright growing habit. Its fantastic blooms have made it an AARS winner for 2004. No garden is complete without at least one Honey Perfume rose. Proven to be a success throughout the country, its will bloom in clusters from spring to autumn with its peachy-yellow colored flowers.

Honeycrisp Apple Tree

The Honeycrisp apple is a very high quality fruit which will be able to keep well for five to six months in regular storage. The tree is one of the most vigorous and hardy of all the apple trees, and shows little damage at -40 degrees. The tree should be thinned heavily. Its cream colored flesh is course in texture. The sub-acid flavor ranges from mild and well-balanced to strongly aromatic, depending on the degree of maturity. This is a great eating apple, and it develops is full aromatic flavor if harvest is suspended until mid October.

Red Rum Honeysuckle

The Red Rum Honeysuckle, ‘Lonicera maackii,’ produces masses of white flowers that will mature to yellow. The flowers are followed by a profusion of quarter-inch, bright red fruits that will persist until winter. This deciduous shrub will grow to eight to twelve feet in height, and has an upright, vase shape. Its leaves will turn to a yellow color in the fall. Shade tolerant and adaptable to poor soils, this Honeysuckle is perfect for a source of winter food for wildlife, and can be used as a windbreak.

Winter Honeysuckle

The Winter Honeysuckle, ‘Lonicera fragrantissima,’ has a very strong lemony fragrance that is emitted by its creamy white flowers appearing in early spring before the leaves emerge. Somewhat inconspicuous, red berries will mature in late spring and early summer after the bloom period. Often called Sweet Breath of Spring, Winter Honeysuckle is easily grown in average, dry to medium wet, well draining soil in either full or partial shade. This plant will adapt to a wide arrange of soil conditions, including dry soils. After the flowering is finished, the plants may be pruned to shape.

Pink Tatarian Honeysuckle

The Pink Tatarian Honeysuckle, ‘Lonicera tatarica,’ is a tolerant and reliable shrub with good flowering and fruiting habits. Originating in southern Russia and Turkistan, it will grow in either full sunlight or partial shade in any garden soil. Its fragrant, pink or white flowers are produced in spring, opening from pale pink buds. The fruit and flower colors will vary with cultivar. This Honeysuckle is widely distributed throughout the United States. It forms a neat shrub for screens and windbreaks.
